Luke Skywalker Star Wars: Dark Empire Custom Action Figure Art

Welcome to DAY 2 of Star Wars Week at Insidious Customs. Today's installment harkens back to the dark days of the 1990s when there were very few Star Wars products, no TV shows, and and certainly no movies. All we had were novels, memories of the original trilogy, and comic books like the Dark Empire series.

While I appreciate Cam Kennedy's highly stylized illustrations and coloring of the interiors of the books, I feel that Dave Dorman's covers give us a glimpse of what things might really have looked like if the adventures of Luke Skywalker had continued after Return of the Jedi. To this day, Hasbro has given us two different Dark Empire Lukes in the Power of the Force 2 and Legacy Collections, but both seem based on Kennedy's look and the molded cape of the Legacy version was unwieldy. So I decided to make a Dark Empire Luke in the Dorman fashion with modern articulation and a soft goods cape. The result is below.
